Rose Blackwood Soprano D for Sale - SOOOOOOOLD

The Whistle Has Been Sold

I will be putting this up on Ebay tomorrow so this is the last chance for C&Fers to pick it up privately.

I am selling a Rose Blackwood Soprano D whistle.

This beautiful whistle needs no further adulation from me as anyone who knows whistles is aware that it is the ‘creme de la crème’ of wood whistles. Read the review here: http://www.geocities.com/dwisely/fredrose.html

Asking Price is $300USD (I will pay shipping and handling in Canada or US)

You know, if I hadn’t just bought one of the many copeland D’s that’ve been floating around recently, I’d have snatched this right up. I can’t believe it hasn’t sold yet!

Shame I didn’t win the lottery this weekend. (sigh)

Neither can I actually. I thought it would be snapped up. I’m sure it will sell on Ebay though ~ so no worries. To be honest I’m almost hoping it won’t sell as I really love it, but I’m afraid it has to go.

Gypsy,

You’re killing me with this one. I would love to take it off your hands. I am on Fred’s waiting list, but probably won’t be ready until the spring or summer. I would love to buy, but I haven’t heard about a year-end bonus yet. I’m sure it will sell, and I have been surprised as well that it has not yet sold.

Good luck,

John Mac

Yeah John, and I don’t think I’m being unreasonable with the price. They are 185 pounds sterling new (approx $293 USD). So for the extra $7 you don’t have to wait.

Oh Well!!!

I think the price is fair. Is the sound the typical sweet and unchiffy sound that Roses are known for? That’s what I like in a whistle, a sweet and pure sound with little to no chiff.

John Mac

John,

The sound is really clear and pure. Absolutely beautiful. I could not find any fault with this whistle.

Keep it, Gerry! Just make your family use cheap toilet paper for a few years.

Now why didn’t I think of that! Great idea Jessie, I’ll see if the Boss will go for it.

{bumpity bump bump bump}

Exquisite whistle…pure, trustworthy in the high end, not weak on the low. . .WG, if you’re not playing it, someone should be. . .but don’t do anything you’ll regret in 2 months/years.

I am playing it Tyghress - all the time. However I have to pay for that Copeland Low D…I plan on getting a Sindt D to replace it - if I’m fast enough off the mark .

Meantime I’ll just play my trusty old Gen.

The whistle has been sold ~ thanks everyone for the support.
