WhOA cured, thinking of selling whistles - SOMEBODY STOP ME!

Well, not all of them, of course - just all the keys and models I never seem to play anymore. Intellectually, I SHOULD unload - emotionally it’s a
terrifyiing thought

Anyone else been throught this. What did you do?

I bought some of them back.

Okay, I don’t have a problem with too many whistles. My house, however, is strewn with enough other unused junk to supply several families at least. I cannot even get into several rooms. If you have other stuff to get rid of that would be easier emotionally to deal with than your whistles, work on that stuff. If your whistles are your only problem, store them nicely and don’t worry about it. They don’t take up that much room.

My wife’s worse than me - and has multiple interests. Maybe I’ll start selling her stuff first. Should I tell her, d’ye think?

I try to sell five items per week on eBay - that’s about all I can keep up with posting, packing and shipping without cutting into my fishing and whistling time. Looking around the house, I think I’m stocked until sometime in 2107.

Well, 5 items is better than nothing. We jump up and down if we get rid of one thing. Selling would be way too much effort for us. My only hope is that we will both die at the same time, someone will make their way in and find us, and then the state will have to deal with it. It’ll be on the news, don’t worry.

It’s a little touchy about getting rid of someone else’s stuff. One person I know hangs certain shirts of her husband down in the basement. If he doesn’t miss them for a year, to the Good Will they go.

I have so much stuff of my own to get rid of, I guess I can wait on my husband’s. Although he is 55 and still has his fishing tackle box full of pennies he collected in HIGH SCHOOL that might possibly be of some value if you want to read the years off thousands of pennies.

OK, you BIT TEASE!!!

Whacha got?

Hello, my name is Rich and I collect Irish Whistles, Cameras, exotic fountain pens, specialized kitchen cutlery.

My wife collects kids. We have 6 now. She will not let me sell them off. So I get to keep my stuff too! Only fair…

I just went through it abit. Now start unloading so we can take a peak of what you got…

A ‘person you know’? The old ‘I have this friend’ trick, huh? I still have my tackle box. I spent all the pennies on the mass of fishing tackle inside them, though.

When I really get tired of it all, I’m calling an auctioneer. Might as well unload it the way we got most of it.

Hey, I didn’t start this as a whistle brag. Sides’ I already sold off all the Gens (old model) and Susatos (didn’t like 'em). Still got a few things, though. You want a tease? OK, start with a matched set of Overton highs and a three tube Water Weasel set. That’s the (very) short list. There’s also a one-of-a-kind Overton Low D, but I’m not even THINKING of parting with that one.

Didn’t want a brag, just what you were thinking about selling.

I have a pretty good set of Overtons though. I might go for a high e and f though.

(please hurry before I buy this Schultz flute from Doc Jones!!!)

If you honestly don’t play them, what the heck, sell them… unless they have deep sentimental value. Then you can buy MORE new whistles from all the peachy makers coming out of the woodwork!!!
