Best way to reduce collection?

Sadly, time, age and arthritis have taken their inevitable toll. Lungs aren’t what they were, either.

The time has come to let go of some old friends - the low ones.

Do people still sell whistles on eBay, and is that still the best way?

Chuck Clark one of my longest term whistle friends is having the same reverse WhOA woes as I! Do you really think it’s age and the other things you mentioned?
Maybe so…maybe so…if so then now I know!

I may not be setting a very good example for you but results are happening.

Chuck, yes, people do still sell whistles on eBay. The fees eBay extract are pretty steep though. Listings are free for the next couple of weeks though.

I would also suggest that you list them here first and on the Instrument Exchange board first. After all it’s a captive demographic. If they don’t move here then try eBay. Just a suggestion.

I like the instrument exchange board. Why not give your friends on C&F first crack at the ones you can no longer play?

OTOH,and not to give medical advice, but playing a low whistle would seem to be a great form of respiratory therapy. I’m just sayin’…check with your Doc first.

Chuck, I should have included a link to the Instrument Exchange since it’s a fairly recent service of C&F - look here

And for those looking for whistles, I can recommend Chuck as an upstanding seller. I’ve purchased from him in the past and all went smoothly.

Don’t feel bad–as long as you can play high whistles you’re still in the game. Low and high whistles each have their special charm, but whistlin is still whistlin in any key!
