FYI to anyone ordering a whistle from Noah Richardson (Laughing Whistles); I ordered a whistle a month ago based on Chiff and Fipple recommendations and never received it. The check was cashed, and e-mails are not responded to. Anyone else have this same experience?

I’ve heard similar stories, but people eventually received their whistle.
Don’t get too excited yet, Noah will (probably) get around to it. Both answering your emails and sending you a whistle.
I don’t know him personally, but I ordered one of his laughing whistles, paid for it and then almost forgot completely
about it before it arrived, because it took an eternity; almost a year to get it. (Don’t have any idea why) And then wouldn’t you know, he forgot that he sent it to me and sent me a second one.
Needless to say, I felt like keeping that second one for about a year, but I didn’t.
I think you’ll get your whistle.
tlc2, did you ask him ahead of time how long the wait would be?
I was thinking along the same lines; Do you know what the leadtime is on his whistles? For some whistlemakers, the leadtime can be weeks, months or even years - unless that maker keeps stock available.
Hi - I had a similar experience - long wait, inconsistent response to my emails…but Noah assured me that his customers always get their whistles and I did get mine. Since I’m a person who checks email frequently, it was hard for me that Noah didn’t always answer, but I recognize that not everyone is an avid emailer. So hang in. You will get it. Noah isn’t the one to order from if, for whatever reason, you need or want the whistle right away!

Thanks so much for everyone’s input . . . will cease worrying and turst that my whistle will show up when it is time! [
It will, and I predict that you will find it worth the wait.
I got my first laughing whistle from him about 9 years ago. Paid for it and waited for a couple of months, check was cashed. When I emailed him he said he never got the payment. I wrote it off as lost in mail then fraudulently cashed. Then I got the whistle in the mail. Yes, I was shocked.
But I’ll tell you. It was well worth the wait. I’ve had some good whistles in my time but the laughing whistle was probably the best for the money. Thanks for all the advice. It has been a long time since I looked at this forum and realize how much I’ve missed.

 Received my whistle, but am sadly disappointed. The fipple is so large that it is difficult to play, and clogs quickly and easily. Nice sound, but not what I thought I was getting!
I’m sorry to hear that you’re disappointed in your new whistle. I was just about to order one of his telescoping D whistles. If you don’t like it would you possibly be willing to sell it to me?
Absolutely! Please contact me.
