Anyone have a nice flat chanter or set they’d like to part with?
This is for myself.
I offer your choice of the oppulent cache of goodies currently in my possesion at ye olde Irishflutestore.com as an inducement to part with such a beast, and to mitigate any subsequent separation anxiety.
Cash money may also be an option if you are of the ilk that prefer such banal fare.
It had no keys (I use both F and Cnat keys constantly in my playing)
It had Martin’s older style drones that went straight out rather than re-curving back. There was just something alarming to me about my kids using them as hurdles while I was playing.
I wan’t, at the time, in a financial position to have two sets.
I would certainly be proud to own anything by Martin…lovely work.
I recently heard a clip of a C# set that really did something to me. Very cool sound. I’d also love to try a B chanter.
I hope to try a few chanters/sets over the next several months between C# and Bb to find my preferred flat pitch.
Doc
Remember, there are three kinds of people in this world…those who can count and those who can’t.
Doc, if you are still searching for a flat-pitch chanter, I might have a local solution to your quest. If you are not already considering it, it might be worth the trip to Salt Lake for our up-coming Tylenol with Tommy Martin June 8-10. I’ll PM you with some more info.
No offense, but I know a little something of what goes into being a veterinarian, and it ain’t a cake walk. Doc has earned his money, a lot of it lomg before he even started practicing medicine.
On the other hand, it must be nice to buy a set when the opportunity arises.
