North Texas Irish Festival, March 3-5 in Dallas

Any of you coming to the North Texas Irish Festival this weekend? It is the 2nd largest Irish festival in the USA.

Headliners this year include Eileen Ivers and the Makem Brothers.

My band will be playing at 9:00pm Saturday and again at 5:00pm on Sunday. Stop by and say hi if you can!

Pulled up the vendor list and not a whistle maker in the bunch .. was surprised.

Jim

For the past couple of years the only place with a decent selection of whistles has been Hobgoblin Music. There is another vendor called “The Flute Cart” - no idea what that will be.

There are always 3 or 4 folks selling whistles, though…usual cheapie suspects like sweetone, generation, susato, etc. Sometimes, you’ll see chieftains, howard, or sweetheart. Just kind of a crapshoot as to what you’ll find.

I plan on being there. I’ll stop by to catch your performance.

Excellent - look forward to meeting you!

Could you give us a clue on where to find you to save a little walking around.

Thanks, Tommy

Sorry, that would have been nice, eh? Here you go:

Saturday, 9pm - Trinity Stage (at the center of the Centennial building)
Sunday, 5pm - Star & Harp Pub Stage (center of the Automobile building)

Site map and full schedule can be found here: http://www.ntif.org/performers/schedule.html

Got a chance to see David’s band Gallus. David is an awesome whistle and sax player!

You’re too kind. Sorry we didn’t get to chat.

NTIF was great! Fantastic weather, food and fun. Musical highlight for me: “bohola” - wow! What a joy to hear them live.
