FS: Keyless Olwell Blackwood Pratten-style in D (SOLD!)

Howdy,

I’ve ended up with two identical keyless Pratten blackwood D flutes by Pat Olwell and need to sell one of them. Thought I’d give C&F’ers a shot before Ebay.

The flute has silver rings and tuning slide. Serial number is 565. I believe it’s about 3 years old, maybe 4. In good condition, a few very minor dings on one of the rings. Plays wonderfully, almost exactly like the other one, interestingly enough. A tribute to Pat’s consistency, I suppose.

Anyway, I’m asking US $1200, shipping within continental US included. Comes with soft Caravello case. I can provide pictures if desired.

Please contact me at johner@[remove_this]austin.rr.com if interested.

Thanks,
John

Edited to indicate that it’s a keyless flute.

Damn, where’s that winning lottery ticket when I need it.

Okay, who want’s to buy my Seery and Burns? I think I might have found a flute I want!!!

Cheers,
Tony

DAGNABIT!! And to think, I’ve pretty much convinced my wife to let me put right about that much into my instrument fund, but it’s not for a flute! I’m in the process of taking up the concertina too, and I wanna buy one o’ them.

Well, I guess I could be rational about it and realize that my Copley is all the keyless flute I need. But what fun is that??!!!

The Olwell is sold, I’m afraid. The buyer contacted me five minutes after I posted. Must be some kind of record.

I offered a money-back guarantee, of course, so I’ll let everyone know if it’s for sale again. But I really doubt it will be.

Thanks for the interest,
John

Wow, that was Quick!

Ok. That’s too bad. But I don’t know.? Did it hava an ambidextrouse embouchure? I’t doesn’t matter now anyway.
Forgive me, I’m at a party, it’s late here.

A quick sale there and the price 1200 USD seems reasonable as there is obviously a demand for Olwells. Who is the lucky owner?

I’m the luck owner. I should be receiving it in the mail today!

Congratulations Winded. Let us know what you think of the flute. I haven’t tried an Olwell myself, but I’ve heard that they are nice flutes.

Got the flute and I love it. Very easy to fill and very easy on the fingers. I was surprised to find that the finger holes on my McGee Rudall are about the same size as the Olwell Pratten “style”. A joy to play!
