I have an Olwell Keyless D flute combo set, in blackwood and silver with lined head. It has a Pratten body and foot and a Nicholson body and foot. Sometimes you just can’t make up your mind.
It sounds great and looks wonderful as you would expect from an Olwell.
I bought it directly from Pat a year ago and just don’t play it enough. I’m more of a whistle player and when I play the flute I’ll just pick up my Tipple which I can leave anywhere.
The flute is oiled regularly and kept at the appropriate humidity level.
It comes in a french-style hard flute case made by Northwind cases.
The flute combo cost me $2385 + $300 for the case so I would like something close to that amount.
I’ll try to post pictures as soon as I find a place to host the images.
Michael, Your Olwell flute combo with a Northwinds case is certainly worth substantially more than you are asking. Patrick’s waiting period for a keyless used to be around a year and a keyed Olwell is around 6 yrs. +/-.
If I didn’t already own an Olwell keyless with slide and an all wood Olwell, I would be on my way up the 416 to Ottawa to buy your combo.
cheers and good luck with the sale,
Paul
