I need one…
Jeez, don’t you have your hands full enough already?
Whats one more?
I’ve always wanted to try one, just to see what its like (I think this sort of mind set is how so many young people end up getting hooked on drugs, or in my case, instruments). Got to see a guy playing one live (not a Gibson, but a vintage Dyer), and was instantly facinated.
Lovely to look at, but an evolutionary cul-de-sac, it would appear.
If you ever get a chance try one, do it! But frankly, I’d rather spend the money on something with a little more utility, or several new toys. $3500 for one toy is a lot, if it’s only going to be a toy.
Just think: you could play the theme from The Last Waltz.
The pre-amplifier days called for a ‘big sounding guitar’ to compete with the orchestras.
I always wondered about those gizmos. The above quote suggests that the “harp” course’s main intended function would be to provide extra tone from sympathetic vibrations, then, rather than just being being something extra to actually play hands-on. Although I’m sure one could do that too, of course. I mean, why not?
