I owned at one time an Early Boxwood Flute made by Pat Olwell. Pat had copied it from a Flute in the Dayton Miller Collection.I think it played Flat or sharp, don’t remember which and it wasn’t very loud, so was not really a Session Flute. I used it to play at Colonial Reenactments and it worked pretty well for Venues like that. Anyhow at some point I had stopped doing those type of Events and sold it. I can’t remember to whom. But anyhow I can use a Flute like that again. I think it was 3 or 4 pieces with a short Foot
So if the Owner of this Flute has it but not playing it much, I’d buy it back
How about a Firth-Pond one key boxwood flute?
They play quite well in A440, at least in the keys of G & D. The Eb/D# key opens up the E note nicely.
And, they would certainly be authentic in the appearance and literal senses.

Hey Paddler, Ive had my eye on this Flute. Would likely buy it if it was about $200 less, not saying its not worth the asking Price, but I’m on a pension. Looking at the Photos the Flute seems in remarkable shape for an Older Flute. The description on this one says it has small Holes. I wonder what the 5th Hole diameter is ?
