I’m signed up for the intermediate whistle class with Kathleen Conneely, and the beginning flute class with Kevin Crawford. I’ve never had classes with either of them, but I’ve heard nothing but good things from friends who have. This will be my first time attending the Swannanoa Gathering – I’m not quite sure what to expect, but I’ve been to Augusta twice, so I assume it will be pretty similar. Will any of you be going this year?

Kathleen is an amazing, relatively unknown player - you’re lucky. Bring a good recording device for classes and sessions. You’ll get some great live music that way that will stay in regular rotation on your itunes.

We were hoping to go but now, alas, we’re not. It would have been lovely to see & hear you again – I expect you’re sounding fantastic these days! I think you’ll get a lot out of your classes. Like WD said, Kathleen’s a phenomenal player, just terrific and she knows how to teach, too. And I’m certain you’ll totally enjoy Kevin’s class – I took his class at Augusta a couple years ago, and he’s great; makes it accessible for everyone. Be sure to have lots of batteries for your recorder b/c he may give you lots of “extracurricular” tunes which you will certainly appreciate down the road.
