I know of four other fluters from NC who will be going. Are you taking KCā€™s or Damienā€™s class?

Dave - are you bringing any flutes to display??

Hi Josh, Iā€™ll be there. Is Judy going too? Do they have enough classes to accomodate your multi-instrumentalism (letā€™s see, thereā€™s guitar, flute, whistle, bodhran - have I forgotten anything?)? This will be my first time, and Iā€™m really psyched. Anyone else going from the DC area?

Yes, Iā€™m working to get some ready to go. Should have an ā€œFā€, a C and D combination and a D / Eb combination. The most difficult part is persuading my family what a sacrifice I will be making by going down there for a week.

Gald to see all of you are going. Worm we will definatley share some tunes. Brendon and I are taking damiens advanced and kevins begginer. All in the afternoon. Which kicks ass! I canā€™t get my mind around why both of the adv flute classes are held at the same time? Wouldnā€™t you all like to do both?

And what happens the rest of the day if youā€™re a flute player?

Well, last year there were too many flute players for the single instructor. I know several people who couldnā€™t get into Damienā€™s int/adv class. So, I guess they were thinking that they could accomodate all of the flute players if each took one int/adv class only.

I kinda wish they would have a true advanced class and a true intermediate class for folks like me. I would also like to take a flute class from John Skelton.

During the rest of the day, you eat, play, watch some amazing concerts, play some more, play some more, and then maybe get a few hours of sleep. Unless you are Josh, and then you take four classes :wink:

hey, woohoo! I found a topic on swannanoa. That surely was one hellova week. I feel stupid though because I have no idea who any of you are (exept for kelly.. hi kellyā€¦) I also didnā€™t take any of the advanced flute classes - due to the stupidity of the fact that the pipe class was at the exact same time as both of them. Though I did get a private sortof lesson from John skelton a few times before and after his whistle classā€¦ still, I REALLY wanted to take damienā€™s class. I even peaked into the classes when David gave us (and himself) a break. Kevin Crawfordā€™s class was just as I expected it to be (way too full). Then I peaked into damienā€™s class and it wasā€¦ just as I expected it to be (just right - not too many and not too little). So then I went back up to Davidā€™s class and started complaining about how I wanted a flute lesson and all the pipers gave me this look like :astonished: ā€¦and then :laughing: ā€¦

Other than all of that it was completely great. Awesome. canā€™t wait till next year.

I for one had another absolute blast. KCā€™s class was fun, I wish I could have taken Damienā€™s again too. I want Seisfluteā€™s Bb!
