Pat!!
Are you selling ALL the whistles I touched?? I didn’t do anything to them, I swear!
Some must go that others may come. But those that go may yet come again.
Doc
Well, if that Copeland goes, it’s going to me!
BTW you can shorter your url by removing everything after your userid, it’s just list order formatting and most of it is default.
What whistle are you looking to buy now?

I’m getting another Copeland Hi-D
(Hey, didn’t I just sell one of those?)
But this one’s brass.
Doc
What’s the first one, Doc?
Since you only sell to people in the USA, you might want to add that to the title of the thread, to avoid wasting the time of people living elsewhere…
Hey Doc,
Did you ever try a Tully yet? I really like the Copeland nickel D, but was wondering about the Tully whistle in comparison.
Jens,
I don’t mind selling internationally. My only concern is that I don’t think the US Postal service will insure international parcels. If someone knows a way to get parcels insured internationally I’d be happy to ship anywhere
Doc
Blackhawk,
I tried a nickel Copeland high-D early on in my HI-D search and thought it was a tremendous instrument. I swapped it for something else knowing I’d probably end up with another some day. I think Michael should put warning labels on his whistles.
Warning: Copeland-whistle-separation-anxiety can strike suddenly, and without warning. If you don’t intend to buy a Copeland please don’t try one.
Doc
Hi Scott,
Egads what’s a Tully?
Just when I thought things were getting under control.

The US Postal Service will only insure international shipments if you pay for the “Global Express” service, which is quite expensive.
Other Options would be to use FedEx or perhaps Brown.
Loren
Well there you have it.
I’ll ship globally if buyers want to pay actual shippng costs.
Thanks Loren

So the high Ds are as good as the low D, eh? Wow! Are they that much better than a Burke? I see on his website that Copeland has 5 high Ds sitting there waiting to be bought.
As to Tully whistles, Dale has a link on the “high end whistles” page. They are sterling silver. I have never played one, but I hear they’re excellent.
The U.S. Post Office will also insure regular Air Mail Shipments for a fairly small additional fee (to most countries). Global Express includes some insurance at no charge (I belive that insured Global Express is available to all countries).
It’s kind of strange - sometimes it’s actually less expensive (or about the same price) to use Global Express as it is to use Insured Air Mail.
Here’s a link to their online international price calculator:

Doc, here’s a link to Tully. I keep hearing about them, but I’d like to hear an A/B to a Copeland with them. http://www.tullberg.com/tully/index.html. I know different tastes are subjective, but I think I’m starting into a “find the soul-mate whistle” episode like you did.
Correction, The US Postal Service will
insure to a reasonable amount almost all International parcel post packages to almost all countries. NOT just “Global Express”.
Whether you get quick delivery and
reliable service is another matter but
it’s a fact you can send parcels insured
by regular air or surface post. See the
website http://www.usps.gov for details and
rates. This is something I know about
but again don’t take my word for it,
just see the website.

Well, my comments are based on the following:
3 times in the last 6 weeks I’ve gone to the post office to mail packages outside the U.S., and each time I was told (by a different postal employee) that insurance was only available on packages shipped via Global Express service - period.
May be that these postal workers were all misinformed, beats me.

The sword of truth stings mightily. USPS service counter clerks and policies: my blood pressure elevates immediately.
You’re quite right Loren - I’ve had to tell counter workers at the Post Office what they’re actually able to do when they tell me that “We can’t ship it that way”.
I don’t think that this is the Postal employees fault at all - the IMM (the Post Office’s “International Mailing Manual”) reads very much like the instructions for filling out IRS tax forms. It is pretty much impossible to keep up with all the little quirks in the system…
