I posted months ago to ask who is going, but got no replies. Maybe it was too early. Since Willie Week is only 2 weeks away, I thought I’d ask again. I saw a thread from Waymer, going for his first time. I don’t know many pipers since I haven’t been attending tionols, so I’d like to to meet up with pipers and C&Fers at Willie Week. Maybe we could set up a time and place to meet? I went once before in 2004 so I sort of remember where things are.
Introduction -I’m Shawn Bailey from Colorado, USA. I am noticed easily as besides being an oddity as a female piper, I also have red hair.
I’ll be sorting out a session.org session, probably at Tom Malone’s at 2pm on Thursday. If you are hanging around the school where the piping stuff goes on, I (and others from here) will undoubtedly see you there.
I’m going! My first time to Ireland too! I have no idea where anything is, so this is going to be a challenge, but hopefully it all works out,
See you guys on the 6th!

First time in Ireland… WCSS is a bit of an experience, to say the least!
How about C&Fers meet at the school where the piping stuff happens after the classes end on Monday (that’s like 1 or 2pm). By then you’ll know where I’m talking about. Just meet in the front of the building. Then we can go somewhere for a pint or a tune (most likely both).
As far as the school you mentioned, do you mean where we have tea time? Thats all I really remember. My classes in 2004 were in someone’s front room off Ballard Rd.
I’m taking classes too, but I have no idea where you’re talking about hah. Are you guys going for the other stuff from the 4th to the 6th or just going on the 6th when piping classes start?

I am getting in Sat or Sun (don’t know why I wrote Friday). There isn’t much organized on the weekends but there are gigs and recitals and other workshoppy things throughout the week and zillion of sessions. As I said, I will be in a pub or if it’s warm, on a beach.
Don’t worry You will find your way arround. The place is quite small. 1 mile long and 2 crossroads - that’s it.
I was there in 1978 and 1979, 2006.2007, 2008 and I will be back again this year. There is so much going on in that week. Live music all over the place - dansing - singing you name it !!!
The biggest problem is actualy the “missing space” in the pubs. Is is wery cowded and at times steeming hot.
Whoa, that was awesome. I went to Clancy’s pub tonight. Three pipers playing with a fiddle, guitar, bazouki, and mandolin. All of them were just plain amazing!
So are we planning to meet outside the resource centre after lessons end on Monday? I am planning to go to the slow airs class and that begins at 2:30.
Also, I’ll be at the memorial service tomorrow.
