[SOLD]: Martin Doyle Blackwood D

The Doyle is SOLD pending payment, thanks.

Hi Folks,

Well, finally it’s time to trim the flutes down to a reasonable level, and first I will offer my Doyle keyless Blackwood Celtic version flute. This sale is limited to the USA.

It’s an amazing flute, especially if you have a developed embouchure. If not, you can still grow with it-but it needs a strong embouchure to play best-it has a small elliptical embouchure hole.

Lovely musical and rich tonal quality, and one worth getting to know. This first was brought back from Ireland by JessieK in 2001, later sold to Doc Jones, then to Bang, and then it came to me from Bang in a trade.

It’s a splendid flute-beautiful shiny, thick walled Blackwood, still in great shape in and out (very shiny bore), only with a patina around the finger holes (probably made by Doc Jones) and a little around the embouchure hole. Little scratch on the backside of the headjoint. It comes with the original wooden case with certificate.

It’s a larger diameter flute than most Rudalls, and tends toward the Pratten type, being a larger bore and medium-large finger holes, with a medium stretch top and bottom. Much easier to half hole than the smaller bore and holed Rudalls.

His current price for this flute is 580.00 EUR = $912.941 USD plus shipping, but I’m sellling this for $600 USD plus insured Priority Mail shipping ($15). I can take a credit card or direct debit through PayPal, but need an added 3.5% to cover costs through them. US Postal money order is fine also, or personal check if I know you.

Email is preferrable to buy, or questions. Don’t think it will be around too long though-Doyles are pretty rare on the used market. I’m glad I had the chance to try it on for size, and now it’s someone else’s turn!
