Ah, what a weekend! For an absolute beginner, all I can say is that I’m on overload! It was an absolute thrill, and I discovered that Patrick D’Arcy is a really extraordinary piper… really! Listening to him in sessions was a real treat. He had to give me a lesson… Thanks, Patrick!
Well, ok, glands sounded quite well too!
The concert was wonderful, a truly glorious treat! Actually, from my perspective, one could write a book about this Tionol. It’s sort of a highlight in my life… something I’ll not soon forget.
For the record, I requested both of the airs played by McNamara and Todd Denman at the concert… and my socks came off when they actually played them! Ah, the sound!
This is all just my own personal reflection here, and for anyone who has never been to a Tionol, you just gotta go to one, cause you’ll never forget it. Thanks to the San Francisco piper’s Club and everyone who came.
It was great to meet you and your Williams practice set. Did you have Benedict have a look at it after? I will record the tune we were doing and send it to you via the web or if you’d prefer a tape that’s fine too.
Glad you enjoyed the weekend, it was a graet laugh!
Thanks, Patrick!! No, I was a bit to shy to take it up to Benedict… I should have, I know. But I got a lot of info from just watching and listening to him help with other people’s more important problems. He’s great wealth of knowledge.
Yep, Paul, you just got to go to one of these things. You get to see how many really excellent pipers there are… and why they call it an obsession.
