Pipes for Sale? Classfields?

I have been searching for a 1/2 set of uilleann pipes in D. I have been surprised to find the waiting list times of pipemakers, but then again I understand it is a specialist instrument. It would be ideal to get a hold of a set within the next 3 months or so.

Is anyone aware of other classfields for the selling of second hand pipes?

I have been checking http://www.uilleannobsession.com/classifieds.html regularly however the 1/2 sets currently listed are a tad above my budget at this time.

I would also welcome any posts from members selling their 1/2 sets :wink:

The minimum set you want is always just beyond what you can afford. Witness the Kennedy half-set sitting there temptingly on there…I really can’t justify the difference between what I can afford comfortably and what I could afford if I sold off some furniture.

I purchased the 1/2 set by Martin Preshaw on the uilleann obsession classifieds (No.34). I have read great things about Martin’s pipes on the forums. Looking forward to them :smiley:

Congratulations, and you skipped the waiting list to boot! I had to wait 14 months for mine but it was worth it; love them.
