Odd idea for another kind of whistle

I have started to meet with the new U of Idaho student organization for Highland pipers. Right now, we are simply trying to learn the bagpipe fingerings, so I thought it would be a good idea to make a whistle that has the bagpipe fingerings to use as a practice chanter.

I still have most of the 100 fipples I ordered once. They were originally meant for slide whistles, but the manufacturer sold me the minimum order of 100 at 25¢ each. They fit water pipes, so I usually make whistles out of copper.

Check out the Elf Song EnChanter Whistle and the “make your own whistle” whistle-chanter in Bb site.

I figured it was a good enough idea that someone would have done it before.

Talking about pipes and good idea in the same thread?

See the center whistle in this group? 7 holes + thumb hole, GHB fingering in the key of D (6 finger holes covered and thumb hole is D). Made in 2005.
