I’ve only had this for a couple of months, but my wisdom teeth have been killing me and I need to get them pulled pronto, so I need the cash more than the pipes. The chanter is cocobolo and pitched in D, with keys for C natural, F natural, and B flat. It comes with two reeds, one by Neil O’Grady and one by Bruce Childress. The set is two years old, but it’s in excellent condition. I’m asking $800 with shipping and insurance, which is about what I paid for it. I can send pictures and a link to a sound clip. Thanks
I think Uilleann pipes are the only instrument where the seller feels the need to justify to the world , just why one would sell a set.
Actually, I might have a buyer…
If so, I’ll PM

I hadn’t even thought of that, it is a bit weird.
I know some people who would rather have their teeth pulled than listen to the uilleann pipes.

That’s a good point. Selling uilleann pipes seems more like selling dogs or horses than any other instrument, or any inanimate object for that matter. “He has a lovely temperament, well-trained, excellent with children, been healthy all his life, well behaved for vet, blah blah blah. Forced to sell him due to divorce, financial troubles, medical bills, going to college, new baby, etc. etc.”
How many of you have bought a used car and know why it was sold, especially if you bought it from a dealer. Years and years ago I bought a used French horn and haven’t a clue why the original owner (or owners) had initially sold it.
I acquired a nice fiddle recently because the seller, a fiddler in his late 80s, was having problems with the ligaments in his left shoulder. He told me that he had always been troubled by his shoulder since he started fiddling in his 20s, but it was finally getting too much for him.
If that old gent could put up with a bad shoulder for over 40 years and still play his fiddle, you should surely be able to suffer with your wisedom teeth for a few more years
Unfortunately no, I really can’t.
Maybe the set(not this one)is just down right crap, but you cant say that or you’ld never sell them ,so you make up a plausable reason like you dog’s got a twisted stomach and needs an operation or he will die!

Just updating to say that the set has been sold. Thanks to everyone who was interested.
