MISSING HIGH-END WHISTLE

Several weeks back I bought a high end whistle from a board member which was paid for through PayPal and confirmed. Also a mail from the vendor to say it would be posted the next day. It has never arrived, which allowing for Customs etc is still way too slow.

It is possible the vendor is away - possible even at Willie Clancy?? as most emails are being bounced back, but as I do not know if it was sent registered post or insured post (within Europe) I am very concerned about the whole deal.

Any ideas? I don’t intend to name the vendor, but I’m sure if it hadn’t been posted for some reason they would have mailed me.

Don’t know your exact situation, but I have sent a fair number of whistles overseas, and I can tell you that sometimes it takes a frustratingly long time for them to arrive.
Shipping is sometimes slow, and Customs can be even slower.
If this maker is a part-time maker like I am, I can tell you that sometimes life ( day job, family, other hobbies, etc) “gets in the way”, and despite our best intentions whistles take a bit longer to get on their way.
Can’t answer for why you are not getting any e-mail response, but if this is a known, reputable whistlemaker I’ll bet that you WILL get your whistle (sooner or later)

If you paid your paypal account by credit card, you are covered under the
Consumer Credit Act. If you bought from abroad, it doesn’t matter because you are based in the UK - the point of sale.

If the whistle was over £100 - depending on credit card, they auto’ insure the deal anyway - claim from them.

If the cost was less than £100, write and tell them what has happened.
Ask for the money back under the above legislation. If they don’t play fair, give yer local Trading Standards office a ring - they’ll do it for you

I agree with BrewerPaul: a while back I ordered a whistle from Alba. It took a long windy road to get to me. So much so that Stacey, thinking it had been lost, sent me a replacement. The replacement took only six days from Scotland to New Jersey. A few days later, the original showed up after taking almost five weeks. Both had been mailed the same way…

If you have a full name and a location why not try Phone Information and get the phone number. Give them a call. That is one thing I do is to get the phone number and full address of the person I am dealing with. If it is a substantial amount I will make a call to them first to verify contact.

Why not send a private message? Maybe that would work better than email. A couple of months ago I was losing all kinds of email because of an antispam program. It’s worth a shot
