Milwaukee Irish Fest

Well we’re less than two weeks from the Milwaukee Irish Fest. Look’s like I’ll be there Friday evening and Saturday.

Who else will be there and is anyone interested in trying to get together and at least say hi?

Also, does anyone have recommendations for motel possibilities, preferrable as cheap as possible? Thanks

I am planning to be there on Saturday, possibly Sunday, and who knows, if the spirit moves me and the weather is nice (and the wallet is able), maybe Friday evening too! If anyone wants to meet, I humbly suggest meeting in the Cultural Village (perhaps by the big Celtic Cross?) as it is usually less crowded than other places, and therefore easier to find people.

I’m looking forward to it

Beth

Cool, wish I could go. Good old Milwaukee! I’m from Wisconsin, though I have lived in Utah for several years now. Enjoy it for me, you guys!

I’m in for Beth’s suggestion ie Cultural Village by the cross. What time?

I’ll be there as well. I really want to check out Cherish the Ladies. Offhand, I’m thinking they play Friday. Whatever night they’re onstage, that’s the night I’ll be there. I’d love to meet up with anyone else from the board that’s planning on it as well…

Joey

I think CTL are playing every night - most bands do there - the schedule’s at http://www.irishfest.com/entertainment/index.htm

I realized I have another committment on Friday so I won’t be there then - but still hoping on Sat and Sun - if you want to meet, how about mid - afternoon on Sat, say, I don’t know, 2:30 or 3:00? Or would you rather it later? I’m flexible…

Beth

My daughter and I will be there scoping out the whistles on Saturday and trying to catch as much as we are able. We’re coming from a few hundred miles north very early in order to catch the afternoon and evening.

2:30 or 3:00 works for me. See you at the big Celtic Cross in the Cultural Village…unless someone wants to change those plans. We’ll know each other by the whistles, eh?

I’m really excited about my Reyburn Low D and the Low G I just got this Monday. Would like to show them off and have others play them to see what they sound like when I’m not playing.

see you there

What, don’t you guys all have C&F merchendise?

I’ve been spending all my money on whistles.
Chiff and Fipple gear is certainly in my future but it will be in the fall.

jim

If there is Chiff & Fipple stuff there I know I will buy it! I am hoping to spend every cent available on a few whistles, hoping that I will end up with one that escapes the clutches of my musician children. I’ve found that anything that arrives here from the Whistle shop disappears within 24 hours into the hands of a better player and still I perservere. LOL

I understand that extra copies of Irish Music Magazine have been printed for sale at the Festival. How do I know this…because there’s a feature on Shanna Quay in it. If you ever wanted to know what I look like (and trust me…you DON’T) there’s a pic in the mag.

Steve

I’ll be at the fest also, trying to meet the bunch of you at the celtic cross saturday.
I’ll be wearing my C&F cap just in case we can’t find each other. Should be a lot of fun!
Anyone else going?
