Well Oahu is getting a very special treat..Lunasa will be playing a concert at the Leeward Community College on Jan 28 @8pm..I am soo excited to be able to see them live..I will try to get pics!!!..at least I wont be the only uilleann piper on the island!!!
I played a gig in Waikiki (sp?) some years ago. Absolutely loved the place and the welcome we received was overwhelming! The boys are sure to have a great time. Don’t forget your sunscreen!!!

WOW!! Simply jaw dropping!!! I just got back from hearing Lunasa and I have to say that they sound just as good Live as they do on their albums. Cillian Vallely played a slow air that made the crowd just look in utter disbelief!!, his pipes were right in tune..sounded perfect!! I also was able to get my hands on their new album “Se” which is not available until Feb 21..It is fantastic !!! You guys are really going to enjoy it…
Did Cillian play “The Wounded Hussar”? He played that the last time they came through my town. It was THE most memorable part of the show. The version on “Kinnitty Sessions” is pretty close to it but nothing could compare to the live performance.
Thanks for getting me pumped up to see them in Seattle in a couple weeks.

As a matter of fact Cillian did play “The Wounded Hussar”..all the other members of the band left the stage and Cillian is there all by himself…His solo part of the show..amazing!!! I am lucky enough to see their second show on Oahu at BYU on Tues the 31 of Jan..I hope this time I will be able to chat with Cillian a bit…it would be a honor..For those of you who are getting ready to see Lunasa soon…you are going to be extremly impressed!!!
