John Doherty is my favorite fiddler, and I’ve been searching for his album Pedlar’s Pack for a long time. Is it much more obscure than his other albums, or am I just unlucky?
It IS a 1964, never reissued lp by the English Folk Song and Dance Society. It’s pretty scarce, although I have seen it come up on ebay a few times over the years, well, perhaps twice or so.
At a guess, it’s unlikely even 1000 copies were ever made (let alone sold), 500 is more likely.
Peter Kennedy had a folktrx cassette of it on sale but that will be as hard to find.
