Hi All,
I know there have been whistle drives here before and now in the wake of hurricane Katrina I thought I would try one. Our church is looking for different ways to help out and I thought maybe some of you would like to contribute a few of your inexpensive, not used much whistles. They are bringing in over 20,000 people that were trapped in the SuperDome, plus all of our local shelters are full with people, many who lost everything. Maybe we can bring a little joy in someones life during all of this mess.
If anyone is interested PM me and I will be more than happy to get these to people to distibute them to children and adults.
Do not worry about the off-key whistles everyone here seems to joke about, these people are jazz and zydeco fans (only joking, but seriously the “bad” Generations and others would be great). Lets see if we can help our neighbors.

So far I have been able to get 25 Megs to refugees down here. We purchased them from a local shop (all they had) and the recipients have all been grateful. Our church will be feeding 6000 refugees for the next 2 months so we will be seeing a lot of the same people for quite a while. I hope to be able to give out more whistles, so if anyone is interested please PM me and we can share information. Thank you all for thinking of others during this crisis, the people appreciate all that is going on and more grateful than any of the tv stories has shown so far. It is really quite overwhelming to witness firsthand.
