How about this: rubberglovebagpipe

I’ll pass, thanks.

Funny, but this doesn’t look like an Uilleann Pipe. :really:

thanks for the link.

i love the musical menu — errumma scale great music too. quite cleaver site and lovely approached to music and life.

but would you need separate gloves, people or what to make this into a fullset. the mind boogles.

is that a full cavity instrument?

Linsey’s a good friend of mine - well known here in Oz. Started out with making gaidas and stuff and progressed to rubber glove bagpipes and briefcase bagpipes and all that. His shows are always big hits. Check out the rest of his links under the video. Interetsing stuff.

Does it look better???

But serious, I think this is not to bad at all. Sounds ok and it’s a lot better to listen than some untunable uilleann pipes.
So why not?

Sounds like NSPs. Not a bad tone at all… I’ll still pass.

I had a look aroud Linsey’s site and found plans for this: http://www.linseypollak.com/pdfs/Foonki.pdf
It has a rather novel reed arrangement using a membrane. When I got home last night I adapted the reed design and had a happy 10 minutes making a ‘reed’ of equivalent volume to my chanter reed. It plays in tune, sounds rather clarinet like, and ( not surprisingly ) does not overblow ( which rather puts a crimp on it as a way forward ), it could be good for drones though.

Charlie.

Cool! A modern-day bladderpipe.
