I’m selling my Terry McGee flute to make way for a new six-keyed flute that will be arriving shortly.
I bought this flute directly from Terry McGee in 2009. It is an African Blackwood Rudall Perfected keyless Irish flute with a tuning slide. It has a Screw Cap, Eccentric Bore head and Integral foot. There is a small dent in one of the rings that doesn’t affect playing (pictured). This flute has been cleaned, oiled and played by me regularly.
From Terry’s website - This is a slender, elegant, powerful, responsive instrument with great tone and excellent tuning. It is based on a large bore, large holed flute by the most prestigious London makers, Rudall & Rose, brought up to date with rather a lot of my own new work. The inspiration for it (RR No 655, circa 1830) can be seen at the Bate collection in Oxford (Bate No 132). The Rudall Perfected is an ideal flute for the professional or serious session player seeking the ultimate in performance in a Rudall style flute - http://www.mcgee-flutes.com/models.html
New this cost $1627.61 AUD (about €1118). I also paid EU Import taxes taxes of about €250.
Total price new was €1368. I’m asking for €1000 + postage.
