I had the C# set posted about a week or so ago. After some indecision and a nice conversation with Bill on the phone, and some consideration that I will be doing a fair bit of my piping up on the Arctic Circle in the next year and half, I decided that I would prefer to keep my flat set. I’m in a position where I can’t keep two sets of pipes, though, which has everything to do with hanging out in the Arctic, so I have a half set of concert pitch pipes made by Bill for sale. Photos are available at the links below. The set is of Ebony with an ebony hollow stock, wooden cap on the chanter with one key. Comes with a Dow Bellows and NPU case. The set is, with the exception of the slight patina on the brass, in perfect condition. The drone reeds are in good shape and the chanter reed currently in use (for about a year) is spectacular (in Pennsylvania in any case), if I do say so myself. It comes with several other reeds and stapels. Everyone who has seen and played this set has said something to the effect of, “Wow, that is a nice set of pipes.” The hard D is enormous, and the drones sound like, what’s the expression, a hive of bees (that would make a nice emoticon for CandF).
