FS: Deluxe half Set (B) by Joe Kennedy,

Hi friends,

Recession finally knocked my door. I have to part with my beloved, long desired/awaited B set.

It´s a deluxe B half set by TOP MAKER JOE KENNEDY, excellently made two years ago in ebony, nickel silver (tarnished like an old set) and imit. ivory. I had to wait four years for this beauty and it has all these nice extras:

  • Fully keyed (7 handmade keys, with a truly elegant design)
  • Stop key (handmade, of course) in a wooden chanter top
  • Hollow mainstock in dark walnut (made with this wood to suit the colour of the set)
  • A fourth drone to add extra richness to overall sound
  • Extra mounts
  • Metal hinged bellows with classic design (in dark wood and quality leather) and L&M leather bag (in perfect shape and status, made specifically for Mr. Kennedy design)
  • Comes with a hard case (black and metalized, never went out of home, like the set)

Excellent overall condition. No chanter reed, so a new reed will be made by Mr. Kennedy himself by request, adapted to your preferences and local weather. This chanter has the best tuning and balanced tone I have ever experienced, live or recorded. Full, rich and solid low notes, incredibly sweet second octave (and it easily goes up into the third octave). Mid range is excellent. No differences in tone across the notes of two octaves. It´s a perfect stick, very, very close to Woof sets (who mentored Mr. Kennedy, as you should know).
The four drone reeds are perfectly working, full, rich balanced sound with an extraordinary sweet harmony produced when the fourth drone is opened.

This real beauty will travel anywhere perfectly packed, of course, insured if you wish.

It´s an excellent opportunity to aquire a wonderful set from a top maker with more than seven years of waiting list (last time I checked, before recession). It could be upgraded to full set in only one year, as Mr. Kennedy told me some months ago. More details in private communication via PM or mail: jpplata(at)hotmail.com

Un saludo.

Juan Pablo Plata

PD: I´ll try to add photographs later.

Any sound files?

:really:

Is there at least a chanter reed with this set? Yes? No?

:really:

OK, I guess I won’t need to be told a third time…

Best of luck Juan…

Sorry for the delay, I´m very busy. Here are a lot of photographs to download.

Sold to an excellent pro piper, so this set will be listened in future albums. Thanks to all and bye for now!
