I’m selling a B.C. Childress full set of Uilleann pipes in the key of D.
The set is probably 4 years old (I’m not the original owner) and is reeded and ready to go. It’s made from blackwood with antler (Staghorn) mounts.
The chanter has 4 keys (F natural, B flat, C natural, A flat) and includes a metal windcap with stop key. This set features Nickel-Chrome Plated keys with Maximum Mounts and Ferrules. The chanter keys are slightly smaller than Bruce’s current work but everything else appears the robust work typical of Childress. Includes velvet & fringe bag cover.
Staghorn mounts are not currently available (the government of India has announced a moritorium) making this set unusual. Current pricing (Price List Effective May 1, 2002) has a set with these features over $4,900 including a 2+ year wait.
