D-Day for Enterprise (Star Trek)

By the end of the coming week, UPN is going to decide the fate of the Series ‘Enterprise’.

They have published a phone number on the Star Trek website and it really sounds like it’s a toss up on whether fans are interested or not.

The phone number is 310-575-7000 and choose the number that corresponds to ‘Star Trek Enterprise’ from the voice mail menu and leave your message to UPN.

I like the series, being a die-hard Star Trek fan, I like them all.

I am a die-hard fan too, and I loved them all. I read all the novels
and have everything on VHS tape and watch them over and over.
This is the least-favorite of the bunch, but I sure hope it stays
on a while longer yet. (its T’Pol, she just isn’t Vulcan enough;
now Tim Russ could out-Spock, even Spock!)

Well, I’ll cast my vote to keep it on, even if no one else does,
Lolly

Enterprise is my favorite Star Trek show so far. I don’t know why, it’s just a lot less cheezzzy than Voyager, with moralistic stuff all over, and a lot more entertaining than Deep Sleep Nine was  I really love the crew, the chemistry, makes me laugh a lot. I also like the fact that they broadcast the show in wide screen format. They also don’t end up having shows which are half about love stories, which end up being bothering after a while.

Do they have an email address I could send a message to?

I’m an old Trekker. I like Enterprise, but I do have several issues with the show. The cast has too many white males, with not enough interesting people of other racial backgrounds. I’m also sick to death of the women’s uniforms (which has been an issue with all the recent series): It seems that to be a women of the future, you have to be dramatically underweight, well-endowed on top, and thin on the bottom. You flaunt that figure by wearing skin-tight uniforms and high heels. (How professional/military is that?) Perhaps the producers are thinking that this is a selling point of the show, but it turns me off.

I didn’t even know it was still on. I still want Marina Sirtis to have my baby. I only wanna fool around with Jeri Ryan. Ha, talk about a bionic body.

You’re right, and the funny thing is that the actresses they chose to play those “well-endowed” characters don’t usually need to act. You don’t need a great actress to play a Borg or a Vulcan, really. So, they end up going for models or stuff like that. I have to admit that T’Pol is very attractive and I really don’t complain much, I guess I’m the typical male they’re aiming for, but I understand your point of view.

What do you think of Hoshi (don’t know how to spell it!). She’s skinny allright, but I don’t think her character is based on anything physical, she seems to be a great actress for what she has to do, sometimes very funny. When I think about it, it’s true that there’s not many female characters in the show, only T’Pol and Hoshi?

I would think that being an officer in Star Fleet would require the individual to be in the best physical shape possible, this would apply to both genders.

High heels aren’t very military, and Star Fleet, whatever else it may be, is decidedly military.

I would hate to see any Star Trek show pulled from the airwaves, but I also have to admit that I have only seen one episode of Enterprise and was not inspired to see another. I dunno, I guess I am not a big Scott Bakula (sp?) fan.

T’Pol seems to be full of suprises for a Vulcan.

This current season has been very interesting, some really good action and plot.

Much to my disappointment, (I’ve been a Star Trek fan since the fourth grade), I never “got” Enterprise…but the idea of it being cancelled for lack of interest is kinda sad. (I’m still recovering from “Voyageur’s” cancellation…fromage, mais oui, mais fromage merveilleux!)

What??!?!?!? I knew nothing of this. Though a faithful and devoted (some might say “rabid” ) Star Trek fan since age 9, I haven’t liked Enterprise all that much. Nevertheless, since I am devoted, I have watched every single episode.

Still, it shouldn’t be canceled. This season was much better than the others and maybe it will get better. And we can’t have TV without a current Star Trek show running!!!

I’m still trying to recover from it’s being aired!

 Erik

Even in Alaska??!?

Long winters, Az… takes a while for things to thaw.

I guess that I’m just still bitter with the loss of Next Generation, though (am I behind the times or what?).

Loved Classic Trek, loved Next Gen, LOVED DS9, was OK with Voyager (liked the later ones that Ron Moore worked on) and can’t stand Enterprise. I’m sort of glad they might cancel it. The last ST movie wasn’t good either. It’s like they are trying to milk this dying franchise to the last drop.

I won’t even touch the underweight actress/tight costume/large chest issue, but apart from that, Enterprise, I always felt, was not a very good concept to begin with. They couldn’t think of anything new, so they had to go back and re-do the past? Also, Scott Bakula, a fine actor in everything else I have ever seen him in, just isn’t very good in this.

If they come up with ANOTHER new series, I am happy to give it a try, especially as I am such a big fan. But really, I say let Enterprise go. The entire franchise is already just sort of going downhill–let’s leave it SOME dignity and not try and wring every last buck out of it. My .02 cents.

Anyone seen this site? http://www.bringbackkirk.com/

Can’t we all just watch Futurama? Oh, wait, they cancelled that too. Idiots.

Hmm, all very interesting.

Personally, I thought this was the first Star Trek series to have any Moxie in some time: It’s tough and gritty, reflecting our times and current events, much like the original series did.

You mean the price of fuel is so high they can’t afford to leave the galaxy?

Dilithium, my good vomitbunny, dilithium.

Man, I just gotta say I really dig the tag “vomitbunny”. Where did you come up with it? Original? Other?
