CelticFest Mississippi

I think it’s the closest Irish festival to me, so I’m going to make a darn good attempt to go. I’d love to finally get to attend a workshop and get some proper instruction. Anyone else going? Or at least has anyone had any of the flute and whistle instructors and can give me an idea if they’ll be good?

I’m afraid I’ve never heard of these people?

Anybody?

GO, its a fun time- two years Liz Carroll showed up, right after Katrina. The folks that put it on are really nice and you’ll have a good time.

Uh Paddy Keenan-JOHN Doyle- HELLO!!!

Paddy Keenan is one of the greatest pipers in ITM. The Fuchsia Band is a new group that has been rapidly attracting attention by playing about two gazillion festival gigs this summer.

Well, yeah, I know who they are! I was thinking more along the lines of whistle/flute workshop teachers. Sorry, I wasn’t very clear!

‘Or at least has anyone had any of the flute and whistle instructors and can give me an idea if they’ll be good?’

You were clear.

Jim is correct…

But do take a min to check out Fuschia Band. Pretty interesting. You can always tell the good new upcoming groups at festivals because you’ll see the other performers take the time to scope them out.

Getting OT but I saw Fushia the first night at Milwaukee Irish Fest. Not only did they do a great show but members from a number of headline groups joined them on stage. I think we’ll see a lot of these guys in the future.
