Begginer flute in Dublin

Hi there!
I am brazilian and totally newbie about irish flute. I am playing the whistle for 2 years, and now I want to buy an irish flute, taking the advantage that a friend is going to dublin next month and can buy one to me, much cheaper than order one to Brazil.
So, I want a really cheap flute, just to “meet” the instrument, and, if I like, buy a better one in the future. I was thinking about buying a Dixon polymer tenor flute in D, 1 piece. I’d like to know first if it’s a good choice to a begginer with my intentions, if I’ll have no problem to play it kinda well. Second, I’d like to know some stores in Dublin where that friend could buy this flute, I just know online shops. The price at dixon’s website is £24.00, in the store would be the same?

Sorry if these informations about stores is in another page, I didn’t find.

Thanks, greets from Brasil!

Can I strongly recommend that you check out Doug Tipple’s flutes, even with postage and any import duties you may have to pay they represent great value for money and are a serious instrument, I started with one a few years ago and would strongly recommend it to a beginner; in addition Doug is a fantastic guy to deal with.

Personally I’d leave the one piece dixon well alone, I’ve never tried one but have heard, and read, a lot of negative comments about them.

One word: TIPPLE

Yeah, I’ve read about tipple flutes, and I prefer them. The only thing is that the dixon would cost almost 3 times less, buying that way. I heard a lot about tipple, but nothing about that dixon flute, that’s why I came here. I gonna make an effort not to buy this flute now, and save money to buy the tipple.

Thank you, guys!
