Banjo/Mando/Whistle case pictures

As promised, I am posting pictures of the case I made
to hold a tenor banjo, mando, and 4 whistles. I needed
a compact way to carry all the instruments I needed for
gigs.

You can also see them as a slide show here:

The sides are solid oak. The top and bottom are
oak plywood. The whistle section is a wood case
with foam and cardboard separators. The banjo
part is a cut-up hat box with foam on the bottom.
I cut the shape of the mandolin out of 2 inch foam
and glued that on top of some more foam. The top
contains 1 inch foam. The whole inside is covered
in green microvelvet.

FANTASTIC!! ASTOUNDING!! GREAT JOB!! How much for one??

Thanks!

Ugh. I don’t think I could afford to ship
them. It’s 19 lbs. without instruments.
I’m thinking about rebuilding the outside
with plexiglass or fiberglass or something…

Very cool. Looks really great.

Nice work!
I like the Fullerton mando
I also have a blue anodized Overton-- is that an A? I love mine.

Good eye! I added a nice McIntyre pickup
and it does quite well onstage!

Yes, it’s an A. I adore it. It’s terrific for
songs that go below the D on a D whistle
(which is pretty common in our repertoire.)

We just started on the first tune set that
I can’t use a D whistle for, so I’ll have to
transpose and hope I can go at speed with
that hole spacing.

Can’t belieeeeeeeve I didn’t notice the Gloucester!
