Wanna see what I've been up to? (not quite commercial post)

Joanie Madden commissioned me to make one of my Sassafrass Whistle Rolls for her…

(see my avatar for the end shot)

This one shows the paper mock-ups of her Burkes (Thanks Mike, for helping me with the measurements)

Here it is fully open, with the business card pocket, markers pocket and the “Specially Made For” label

Half rolled

Fully Rolled and Ready to Go!

Her response upon opening it after delivery was quite satisfying.

VERY nice, and well thought out. Maybe you should make up a few in different sizes—a low set and high set—and offer them up sale?

Cool! I saw your bag “in action” at the CTL concert Friday night, and I wondered where she got it. It’s beautiful!

Looks great, Annie. THe other Weekender made me one but the thing I always wonder about is, what about other brands and makes of whistles that don’t fit symmetrically. That happened on mine.
.
Is Joanie only using Burkes on tours now? That seems pretty newsworthy!

Wow. That’s great!!

That’s the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Gorgeous.

Slan,
D.

Wow!

That’s beautiful.

I wouldn’t make that claim… she uses many. I just made this case for that set.

I can fit specific whistles or make a generic that handles most. The generics have to be a bit looser though, as it’s the circumference that tends to vary, while the length stays fairly consistent.

I make a “Dozen D’s” and a “Dozen Hi-Lo” that are more generic. When I get the website up and running, I’ll announce it.

edited once to repair the quote

It was very neat…Weesa and I were looking at it as well. We were both pretty much drooling over it.

 (straightening up, trying not to blush outrageously) Oh, and the drooling won’t be too much of a prob… I Scotch Guard 'em.

:boggle: That is a beautiful case. I have one my wife mad but it is not that elaborate.

Ron

I have two my ex-wifes mad. :boggle:
Half the time I didn’t know what I did to make 'em mad.

Really nice!

lovely! good job.

Sven

Great! I’m ready to order!

But now the important question: How do the paper whistles sound?

I’d say there is a bit of an airiness, very light, to them, but they are a cut above the norm. It is a bit difficult to control the volume, and they really tend to gob up when the saliva strats to flow.

That is really cool.

Ooooh! Looooovely!
