If you compare the blade of an old Abell such as this one with that of one made in the last 5 or so years, you will find that the old one has a slightly blunt, angled edge, whereas a newer one will have a very sharp edge. The old ones are sweet, pure and full, whereas the modern ones are too loud and posess quite a bit of wind noise.
For some reason, Chris Abell seems to be unwilling to recreate a whistle with the tone of his older ones.
