Dang it, science

First Pluto, and now they Triceratops might
not actually be a valid dinosaur species.

I wonder what the annoying Cera, from The Land Before Time would have to say about that...

I was distraught when bronto bit the dust - remembering the Sinclair Oil exhibit at the 1964 NY World's Fair. I still have my molded green plastic Sinclair Dino, minus the head which broke off years ago. Now if someone offered apatosaurus head retrofits, I'd do it. But noooo ... Talk about misplaced priorities.

Next someone's going to tell me The Thing is a fake, and the Space Age Lodge wasn't built by by aliens. Sheesh.

Cera doesn't need an excuse, she'll headbut anything.

This is just one group's findings. We'll see how it shakes out.

Another example of inaccurate headlines to get attention.
All torosaurus specimens will now be reclassified as triceratops, the scientists said.
Really the article should have been called "Torosaurus 'never really existed but was just an old version of another dinosaur'" but then no one would have known what they were talking about.

It's a torosaurus and a brontosaurus! Now I'm a little relieved that neither exists.

What happened to Brontosaurus? It was one of my favourites as a child (my brother had a lovely set of plastic dinos), and then people just stopped mentioning its name... I never knew why... bit like when a favourite aunt becomes a prostitute (not that that ever happened in my family, I hasten to add. As far as I know.)

Thank you! What a shame. Bronto was definitely more attractive than that Apathysaurus.
This mistake lasted until 1975, when Dr. Jack Mc Intosh and Dr. David Berman proved to the scientific community that the Brontosaurus was actually the body of an Apatosaurus.
That explains it. By 1975 my brother had moved on from plastic dinosaurs to rock music and first attempts at alcohol abuse.
