I had to look up "nexus". I see it's a poncey word for "link". I bet Flatley uses the word.talasiga wrote:benhall.1 wrote:You guys always say he's a great flute player, but I have to say, I'm still waiting for anything by Michael Flatley that I actually like.
yes, what exactly is the nexus between what you MIGHT like and the question of greatness of a particular musician?
Did you mean to imply a nexus between the two?

- Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

You know, I think "woo" must be one of the un-Frenchest of words, when you think about it.

This is draggin' on a bit as my neighbor has suffered a serious breach in his parameter containment and is leaking cows, steers, etc. My horses are not amused.

Re: Flatley on Flute
A point of subtley, and well played. First to point out that Warhol's Marilyn Diptych is not hinged. Flatley's two images here have no hingement. I have, with Warholian precedent as my shield, also called the Flatley arrangement a diptych. But that is all: therefore I have not said that Flatley was hinged, or unhinged. That is another matter, and ground upon which I should not presume to tread.Denny wrote:I's still tryin' ta figure out why ya said he was hinged

Harsh. I guess I must try to figure out what a life is, then.
