Being sort of "forced" to explain myself here I although I could, and. perhaps, should desist.
I was referring to Dale's comment about losing poundage
and for some inexplcable reason (or cause) I recalled the fashion

I don't visit the board that often anymore as I did 10 years ago ( )
but it is really nice to come into the pub and see such familiar faces I've never met.
Thanks for posting!

Ah, that's what got you into trouble! It was so oblique as to appear utterly non sequitur, and consideration for people's feelings no doubt played a big part: while an attributed quote might have done wonders to set the ship on course, it would have been an awkwardness of courtesy on top of the medical-advice thing and you probably saw yourself on the horns of a dilemma. Now I get your strategy, but the fruits of it was that instead of my knowing that you had poked your nose in, with all good intention, to a certain someone's passing comment made in humor (and who would do that on such an occasion of joyous reunions? But never mind.), I thought you must have, had to have, gotten lost on your way to the "Gluten-Free" thread and the best I could figure was that you were probably either hinting at the issue of arsenic levels in rice bran (my first guess), or roughage-induced diarrhea (I didn't want to believe you'd go there). After all, the subject of rice was all the rage there at the time. Obviously I was wrong. At the end of the day I'm glad to know it wasn't about diarrhea, anyway. I think we all are.talasiga wrote:Being sort of "forced" to explain myself here I although I could, and. perhaps, should desist.

I sincerely hope that you are not insinuating that my high fibre vegan diet of fruits, vegetables (including up to 4 pounds of potatoes a day), whole grains, beans, lentils, nuts and seeds explains the texture of my posts.

What would explain the texture of your posts is a recent photo.talasiga wrote:I sincerely hope that you are not insinuating that my high fibre vegan diet of fruits, vegetables (including up to 4 pounds of potatoes a day), whole grains, beans, lentils, nuts and seeds explains the texture of my posts.

You were responding originally to a photo of the undisputed one. Naturally, in all fairness, the photo in question would be a recent personal photo of you. Then we could see if you walk your talk, pound for potato.talasiga wrote: a recent photo of what?

as someone who sometimes prides myself on the tangential nature of some of my better posts,
I do admit to not following the meaning of your post Doug.
Why would a photo prove whether I ate up to 4 pounds of potatoes daily?

Perhaps it could be a picture of your potatoes.talasiga wrote:as someone who sometimes prides myself on the tangential nature of some of my better posts,

If you're talking to me, my hair is not growing as lustrously as it used to but it is still long enough to cover my ears well for I would not like to allow the people to see the elfin hairs growing from my earlobes!Denny wrote:I was wonderin' if ya still had hair. The other two ain't doin' well.

Oh, I eat lots of brown rice. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, although more of the former than the latter. I eat relatively little red meat. Very little beef. A little pork maybe twice a week. I avoid deserts. So, why am I still fat? Easy, I eat too much food and get too little exercise. But, that's another thread. Or no thread at all, actually.talasiga wrote:Being sort of "forced" to explain myself here I although I could, and. perhaps, should desist.
