I am SO proud!
This morning, my wife Charlene will graduate as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. It's been a long and arduous process, and I'm thrilled to get my wife back from the world of clinicals, research projects, papers and symposia.
You're all probably sick of me gushing about how wonderful Char is, but indulge me a bit. She is going to make a fabulous nurse practitioner. This is a woman who, when she was around 6 years old, used to read the Merck Manual and PDR for fun. Her empathy for her patients and clinical judgement is really amazing. We've discussed some of her cases (while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality, naturally) and her insights are those of someone who has practiced medicine for many years.
Jobwise, Char has several applications out there and has a callback interview at one Albany Hospital on Tuesday. Whoever gets her is going to be very lucky.

As you should be proud. Nurse practicioners are needed and fill a need, especially in rural West Virginia.
Rose tint my world. Keep me safe from my trouble and pain.

As a rule, I greatly prefer NPs over MDs.
Nice work kudos to Char.

Good for her! I've never met a NP I didn't like. She sounds like the tops!

Congratulations!
(And who knows, maybe one day she'll be treating me for something -- I work in Troy, and I do appear to injure easily!)

Congratulations to you both! It's no small feat getting through the schooling, and getting through your spouse getting through the schooling is equally commendable!
