Dulcimer,
Theremin,
Overtone Flute,
Moog,
Crwth,
Psaltery,
Systrum,
Koto,
Samisen,
Tambourine...

Actually, I think I vote for the Tambourine. Sorry, whistles. ...Oh gawd, now I've done it.

I can't believe you left off Uilleann Pipes.

I rather though IB's list followed a nice linear path :D
Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
It's dizzying, the possibilities. Ashes, Ashes all fall down.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

I had to put down my iPod Ocarina to type in my assent to this.

And it's regrettable to note that only a couple of years ago whistle would have been on top of any catch-all list on this website, even if only out of lip service (as it were). You know. Such as in pianos have neither chiff, nor fipple. O tempora. O mores.

flute
I can't believe you left violin/fiddle off the list
I can't believe you left harp off the list
I can't believe you left the entire dulcimer family (mountain, hammered, humle. . .) off the list
I can't believe you only left two places for things you left off the list

I can't believe I can vote for 4 instruments which I
simultaneously think are the "best". Superlative Fail.

It WAS rather classic mutepointe of him, wasn't it. He probably meant to do that, you know.
