FS: Olwell Keyless D Flute

Post by BrendanB »

I am putting my blackwood Olwell D flute up for sale. I am planning on putting it up soon on Ebay, but wanted to post it on Chiff and Fipple first. If you are interested, please PM me with an offer.

It is Patrick's Nicholson (medium holed) model and the serial number is #667. This is a great flute that I am only selling because I have a keyed flute on the way.

You can see a video of me playing the flute online - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkvezck-0iU

I also have some photos of the flute which I am happy to email anyone who is interested.

Thanks,
Brendan

Brendan, you forgot to mention that this flute has the Josh Dunks seal of approval.

Wow... I've been trying to figure out the name for that second reel you guys are playing for ages.

I had it on some obscure recording of that I found somewhere... most likely from Mr. Dunks's :D webpage.

McGettrick's... brilliant!

Best of luck with your sale.

Sorry for the delay, here are some photos of the flute. I apologize that they aren't the greatest quality, but hopefully they give a good sense of things. Thanks to Josh Dukes (nee Dunks;) for help with some of the photos.

I am now the proud owner of Brendans flute! Arrived an hour ago, and have just tried it out (after having let it "warm up" in the packaging).

Only tried it for 5 mins, but it sounds great! Immediate impression is a much better/louder low E that my old polymer flute, but I'm not hitting all my high D's (probably not covering all the holes properly - I've only been playing 6 months).

Thanks Brendan for the careful packaging, and excellent communications in keeping me up-to-date
(two days from Washington DC to Edinburgh, UK ... not bad!)

No customs bill to pay either .... yet!

Happy tootling! Congratulations!

If you had the delivery, there won't be a customs bill - if things get caught (only a sample percentage do - pretty much a lottery) you get a bill-letter from the handling depot (somewhat later than you'd have expected the delivery...) and they don't release the parcel to you until it is paid, including a Royal Mail/Parcelforce handling fee..... so, with goods in hand, you're in the clear! Enjoy!
I respect people's privilege to hold their beliefs, whatever those may be (within reason), but respect the beliefs themselves? You gotta be kidding!
