Except with a few sourpuss surgeons, we spend a LOT of time in the OR laughing. Yes, it gets pretty crude at times but a lot of the humor is genuinely funny and inventive. Some of the cases are pretty long but also sort of routine, so humor is a welcome relief. Lots of good music gets played too.

The 45th Infantry Division, the Thunderbirds, Oklahoma's state militia, used this as its emblem, in celebration of our American Indian heritage:

In 1939 it was changed to this, an emblem still used by the Oklahoma National Guard:
