Biscuits and gravy
A great combo, there's no doubt
Food for hungry soul.

How the food translates!
Gone, as scone, once known as scone*
That takes the biscuit!

*Two different pronunciations of scone, there.
"I asked the maid, in dulcet tone
To fetch for me a buttered scone.
The silly girl has been and gone
And got for me a buttered scone."

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

An insurance company holds the 'Salaryman Senryu' competition every year in Japan.
Senryu differ from haiku in that they are usually about contemporary themes and do not require a seasonal word.

I translated a couple from the best twenty.

Back then I had dreams
And they said follow your dreams
Is that all they were?

This is why I work
to hear the words 'welcome home'
and to see that smile.

(Mine has bacon, since I use bacon drippings as the fat for the roux and then add the crumbled bacon to the gravy. S'good.)

If A equals B
And B minus C is nil,
Then A equals C

Ever wonder what would happen if a Haiku poem had a conversation with a Tanka poem?

Haiku poetry
Makes Tanka antiquated
