Magnetic tape art
This is the best art made of old cassette tapes you'll see all week.

Re: Magnetic tape art
I had a boxer that ate a cassette tape once. I mean, he ate the tape, the case, the clear plastic case - all I found was one little white wheel.
When it came out the other end, the tape was still in one piece.
Sadly, it didn't look like these pictures.

Re: Magnetic tape art
Silly me. From the title, I was expecting Musique concrète.

And the obvious question is: what did it sound like?missy wrote:When it came out the other end, the tape was still in one piece.

Reminds me of the story about the chicken that ate a packet of elastic bands, and then laid the same egg three times.

Re: Magnetic tape art
That certainly is the best I've ever heard Dylan sound.

Very cool. I have a bunch of old cassettes, now I know what to do with them... recreate some Maxfield Parish works.

Re: Magnetic tape art
I watched a documentary a few years ago about Bob Dylan, it was one of those 'sitting on the fence' doco's that lets you make up your own mind on the merit's of Dylan. ....Anyhow....It seems Bob was, and still is, a little peeved that other artists could have bigger hits with some of his songs than he did. 'Mr Tambourine man' by the Byrds comes to mind first off. I wonder if he ever sat down and compared his...ahem..'singing' with the singing on the cover versions of his songs?
I'm afraid his whiney nasal delivery never did anything for me. I must admit I do like a lot of his songs, but not when he is singing them.

Re: Magnetic tape art
Admittedly some I do like better by others- Hendrix's version of All Along the Watchtower comes immediately to mind.
BUT, most just don't cut it by anyone else-
Others may have a better singing voice, but his unique delivery is part of what makes them great.
