business cards on Word
Does anybody know if there is a pre-set button or set of buttons you can push to make Microsoft Word automatically divide itself to print standard-sized business cards?
Re: business cards on Word
You can download a template that does that.
Google for "Word business cards template".
Here's one place to get them.

There are companies like Memorex that sell prepunched sheets of business cards, and they also sell software that will print perfectly for your model of printer (doesn't require Word).

I only wish there were "standard-sized" business cards. The last person to give me a business card had one just a fraction too large to fit in the pocket in my wallet.
Maybe that's deliberate.
And our company - bless 'em - prints a logo-motif on the back of the business card so you can't scribble extra information on 'em. Nice going, corporate dudes!

Speaking of non-standard business cards,
if you're really bored, you could always do
up some with gears:

Or a scrolling LCD sign:

Or an embedded flashlight:

Printing on photo paper is now cheap enough that an eye-catching full-colour business card is well within reach, if you do the artwork yourself. North american standard is 2" x 3.5", which means you can line 'em two abreast on 7 inch wide photostock. Learn to cut a 90 degree line on the mark with a paper cutter, and you've got glossy business cards for pennies apiece.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

That one with the gears looks wonderful, but it requires access to a laser cutter. Staples doesn't seem to stock these.

Unsual sized and shaped cards are meant to make you stand out more - at least in Europe or the US.Innocent Bystander wrote:I only wish there were "standard-sized" business cards. The last person to give me a business card had one just a fraction too large to fit in the pocket in my wallet.

In Japan they have a standard sized card and it is best to keep it that size.
I have seen a few non-Japanese people's cards put in drawers because they don't fit the usual card holders.
Jack, if you are looking for cheap cards, Vistaprint are always spamming the hell out of people. My wife used them and only paid the postage.
The cards were decent quality.
You choose simple designs online. http://www.vistaprint.co.uk/vp/ns/defau ... 14+PM&rd=2
