I'm 99.9% sure, considering the username and the set of pipes thats Mark Donohoe playing his own pipes, and if it is ,I have some photo's of his pipes I took when I was collecting my regs. If I get permission I'll post some of them.BigDavy wrote:Short vid from donohoking, nice sounding chanter.

They are amazing players, but the music is just so shallow and bland.

The ever popular low whistle/double bass stuff like that is boring as hell. Some clever arrangements but I could take it or leave it. The Paddy Casey cover made me laugh out loud
There is some fine playing though when the Lunasa clip picks up half way through with the flute/fiddle/pipes power trio. Good tight playing.

I'm sorry to say that I don't like the low whistle, there's something that doesn't sound right when you play ITM on it.
Didn't like those clips, but as JR pointed out the "flute/fiddle/pipes power trio" was great.

Re: THE GREAT UILLEANN YOU-TUBE THREAD.
Notice the position of his regs. He must have been in the process of learning to play with regs and only has one turned to where it can be played. I've heard many people try to add regulators to their playing when they were still far away from the level of playing in this video (I'd probably be one of them if I could afford an extra stick or two on the set )BigDavy wrote: A young Gay McKeon

That's what I initially thought, too, but there's a recording of Gay on the Piper's Rock CD made 10 years earlier where he can be heard playing at least two regulators. Maybe he forgot how to play 'em...? Or, more likely, the tenor and bass were out of tune or otherwise not working properly and he wanted to keep them out of the way.
