I was going to say an owl, but that wasn't up there. :P I say ghost, I think it would be pretty funny to haunt some people, but not in a demonic way(that is why I didn't choose demon.).

I like the idea of being a mad scientist, but not the evil type of mad scientist. More like a Nikola Tesla type mad scientist :D

Definitely a shape-shifter. One who can change forms at will, rather than one whose form depends on whether it is day or night.

Of you who would like to be a day/night shifter, would you rather be one who is human during the day (e.g. werewolf) or human during the night (e.g. selkie)?

Nearly didn't bother with "werewolf", but you never know - could be fun. As for the others, who could resist the chance to be a vampire, a demon or a sweet transvestite?
