Whistle 1

Whistle 2

Whistle 3

Whistle 4

Whistle 5

[edited to replace clip 5, same whistle though]
My guesses:
1. Sounds like it could be a wood whistle. Reminds me of a Busman.
2. Blackbird
3. Feadog
4. Clark Sweetone
5. Another one that sounds like wood, but also very pure. Abell, maybe?

I can't wait to see how wrong I probably have it.

Edited to change a guess...

maybe this sort of thing would work better as a poll for each clip - provide half-a-dozen options and we can vote with our opinion on which whistle is being played...

My guesses
1: Agreeing that it sounds wooden, have litte experience with that, so I'll guess Busman.
2: Oak
3: Black Diamond, or a well tweaked Generation perhaps.
4: Clarke Original
5: Clarke Sweetone

Unfortunately that can't be done, since we'd need a new thread for every entry. Lets keep it in this thread, and let our guesses be just that. We don't need options.

I think I'll record some more when I get back from the tasting on friday, and I've had a few snifters of
whisky :)

I think all Peter's clips were played on the same Generation, with different
blowing angles, with the exception of clip 4, which is obviously a carrot with
holes cut in it.

If no one guesses correctly without clues, maybe after a time you could post the list in random order and see who can match the whistles with their correct clips.

Best wishes,
Jerry

I think that is maybe Peters choice
I wouldn't want to annoy him,

But giving a list of choices is maybe a good idea.

Perhaps the next clips could be done in this way?

And Jerry i bet you're wondering if one of yours is there :D

I'm sure Peter will let us know soon

They are : Gonzato, Feadog (MarkI), James Galway, Humphrey (Narrow Bore JI older model) and Blackbird (prototype 3 on nickel Gen tube). I'll put them in the right order tomorrow or the day after.

So far one guess got one whistle right.

This is fun. Excuse my not participating, but my experience of different whistles is limited as I found what works for me pretty early on. But from a spectator's point of view this is really good.

I'm glad Peter decided to join in again. Even if it's all been done before (I must have missed it), it's interesting.
