I'll have to wait till I get back home at the end of next week to post a pic. If this thread is still active then. But I have a bodhran, two low whistles and an assortment of highs. Also a bagpipe practice chanter that may or may not be in NY (I know the cheezy pakistani one is here in WA), a set of andean panpipes, and a handful of different sized recorders.

Erik,

Is that horn in your picture a shofar, or is it a gemshorn? Just curious

Seth,

It is a Shofar - from Israel. I now wish that I would have had money for the really big one, but that's another story

Stan, Greg's right  - Train whistle, from the 1880 train in Keystone, SD. You'd be suprised at the whistley things that I get once friends find out that I collect whistles.

Hey, I should have made this a contest!

I'm a member of the Overton Bass A club, too! Got one a couple of weeks ago from Ronaldo Reyburn, and it made its debut in Church last week. Sweet whistle, but what a beast!!!

Erik:
What is that crockodile thing and the multi-colored thing near it? And that pretty wooden thing on the bottom right near the toy with the painted stripes?

Oh, and that black bass is GORGEOUS!

Hi Elliot -

Let's see if I can figure it out. That crockodile thing is actually a loon. It is a Lakota Native American Flute from South Dakota. It was a high school graduation present a number of years back; my father knows the man that made it. If I remember correctly, it was made by 'Lakota George' in Pine Ridge (?) but I'm not certain where he's from.

Multi-colored thing is a totem whistle from Peru (it has a real name but I can't remember it). My sister-in-law and family live there so we have a lot of Alpaca, Llama and other Peruvian articles

For the third thing, I'm not certain which one you're talking about, but at the bottom of the picture is a painted Peruvian ocarrina; above that is a train whistle and above that is a Romanian carved whistle (which looks cooler than it sounds!).

Thanks for asking  Erik

p.s. Black bass is actually a Clarinet.

No no. The black bass back on page one is gorgeous.
I have too many hideous memories of junior high school to ever think of a clarinet as gorgeous.

Oh well, yeah, that's a black bass  I was also enjoying taking a look at David's fiddle back guitar.
