It's the 1830 one. The one against Charles X that put in Lous-Philippe, Duc D'Orleans in power after the former started becoming too authoritarian. General Lafayette, at this point 73, came out of retirement to again lead the National Guard in Paris and install Lous-Philippe as the new constitutional (and hopefully more liberal) monarch.dwest wrote:Which revolution was this from?CHasR wrote:

Cosette, has yet again claimed the center of attention, standing on the highest point, waving a flag. Marius Pontmercy, sees Cosette as Éponine has taken a bullet in her back for him. Éponine looks up and knows Marius has already forgotten her and is transfixed with Cosette. In the background the young Petit Gervais wields two pistols, forced to become a mercenary after losing his family's savings (a 40 sous piece). In the foreground, Grantaire half drunk and half naked as usual.

There is a production of Don Giovanni in London at the moment, which is using for its advertising poster a figure modelled on Marius, the guy with the top hat and musket. I couldn't remember where I'd seen the figure before. Not incredibly appropriate for Don Giovanni... Thanks for jogging my memory.
